Pythia jerked to a sudden stop as a jet black wolf leapt into her path and dropped a rabbit at her feet. Although the alpha female prided herself in her ability to detect danger from every direction, this intrusion caught her completely off-guard, and she reacted as such. Where she had stopped her run up the mountain was only a few feet from Avalanche and merely a foot in front of this black male, and she immediately tensed her entire body, showing her full, towering height. With piercing, cold blue eyes, she regarded the intruder while a low growl emitted from the very depths of her being warning him not to make any sudden moves. He was tall like her, and his pelt made a striking contrast against the pure white snow as well as her own pelt. His liquid brown eyes, though not staring straight into her own did not stay lowered for long, causing Pythia to raise her heckles a bit more. The male was showing some submissive behavior, but his body language made it quite clear he was not one to submit completely to anyone regardless of the situation. The angle did allow her to see a large scar going through his right eye, making her aware of the scars she herself carried. This seems to be a collection of scarred wolves, she thought dryly to herself. Well, I suppose it's fitting considering the surroundings - we have all been pushed to the point that we have become as harsh and cold as the mountain summit.
Staring intensely at the male, Pythia suspended her growling for a moment. What do you think you’re doing? she snarled. First you intrude upon my territory, and then you run out in front of me! Give me one good reason why I should even let you live. The white female was angrier than she probably would have been on any other day. So much had changed for her in such a short period of time, and she was more on edge than usual. All of this socialization was draining what little cordiality remained in her body. Also, Avalanche’s warning of the impending storm had left her preoccupied and turned on the deep, instinctive need to find food and shelter. Perhaps on a deeper level, she was feeling a bit protective of her new female counterpart. She had not had even an acquaintance in so long that the new member of her pack, if you could even call it that, was deserving of her loyalty and protection. Regardless of the fact that Avalanche was more than likely completely capable of fending for herself, Pythia was the leader, and the leader always protected the rest of the pack.
OOC: Haha sorry Pythia is such a spazz, nefarurae. She’s sort of lacking in the social skills area XD

Fane dropped his eyes for another couple seconds, but his body didn't move. His body was relaxed, but every sign showed he was aware and very dangerous. He made a very subtle movement, his right eyebrow inching into the air. He glanced behind him, noticing he was on the edge of a cliff, the drop down to the forest below devastatingly high. The tops of the green trees were barely visible and looked like little specks. He had seen her tense, and noticed her reaction, eyes emotionless, clearly not scared or intimidated. He had learned not to let anything scare him into being submissive. He’d be submissive if he pleased. It certainly wasn’t like he wasn’t being at all submissive. He had lowered his eyes. He heard her question and replied in a dry deep voice. “Because I could be an asset to your pack.” he said, and air of boredom about him. “And what do YOU think I’m doing?” he asked back and eyebrow cocked up, stretching his scar. The wind whipped around him, and he glanced up, noticing dark thunder clouds with the snow. Strange he thought, looking back to the female, this time not lowering his gaze. He wanted her to know that he was not going to fully submit without a reason. Though this was he had been kicked out of various packs in the past, he didn’t feel with this female she would kick him out so quickly. He was directly eye level with her, gave meeting hers. He noted her scars, and his brows creased but a little. Was not everyone here scared? The land was unforgiving, but he knew that whoever lived here had to be as fit as him. In his past packs, he didn’t put up fights when they kicked him out because his pride prevented him from fighting an unfair fight. He would not fight those who were so much weaker than him. His molten brown eyes softened just a little. “I did not mean to scare you. I just wished to tell you that there is a terrible storm on our heels. I thought that could help.” he said nodding at the rabbit he had deposited at her feet. “There’s another one back at what I suppose is your cave.” he stated flatly, eyes hardening again. Watching her closely, he moved suddenly, jumping around her other side so that he could not be pushed off the cliff if they got into a fight. It was not what he wanted to happen, but it could. He conjured up a deep growl from the bottom of his throat, showing her he did not want to fight, but would. “I wish not to fight, but so force me and I do not think it would end happily for either of us.” he said with a small smirk on his face, barely noticeable with the oncoming snow that had begun to sprinkle down. He looked into the sky, the snow falling on his scar and stinging it, the pain reminding him of what he was doing. He lowered his gaze slowly, each movement jerky and forced, all of his self control put into not raising his gaze. He wouldn’t, no couldn’t, lower his gaze all the way so he stopped at her chest, himself almost panting with the effort of keeping his gaze down. He picked up his paws, shaking the snow off, turning his pad up to see weather had begun to bleed. He cursed under his breath, looking back, They had, damnit they had. A clear red trail spread all the way back to the cave, showing clear against the white snow. He put his paw back down, disgusted with himself. Now anyone who wanted could track him to this spot. He looked down a little farther, as far as he could possibly go.
OOC: Haha it's okay. You can call me Joc, but yeah. Fane is severely lacking too. xD

Pythia glared at the intruder while the snow picked up in intensity, swirling all around her and collecting in the stiff hairs of her pelt. She refused to blink even though little flakes were beginning to settle around her eyes and in the lines of her scars, instead preferring to keep her gaze trained on the black wolf in front of her. Though she was still angry, especially since he refused to submit completely, her rage was lessening as she regained her composure and control of the situation. As the male jumped to the side, she immediately turned around to face him and inched a little farther a way from the edge of the cliff herself. To her surprise, he then proceeded to lower his head, although the movement was clearly forced and difficult for him. For a brief moment, she allowed herself to follow his gaze and noticed the bright red splotches of blood where he was standing. The crimson trail led all the way back to her cave and seemed to jump out at her due to the contrast of the pure white snow. With a slight smirk, she turned her head back towards the wolf in front of her.
I am not here to fight you, she replied, though if you challenge me, I will not hesitate. With that said, Pythia relaxed a bit. She knew this male would not attack her despite his initial little show of bravado. Now that she was firmly back in control, Pythia’s mind went back to the situation at hand. By now, the storm had begun to progress even more, and the wind was blowing the rapidly increasing amount of falling snow around in almost a blinding torrent of white. As you can tell, there is about to be a horrible storm, she said to him. My counterpart over there and I were about to go hunt and then back to the cave. However, your intrusion has cost us time, and now we have to seek shelter immediately. Pythia then looked over at Avalanche, signaled for her to come, and turned towards the cave. I will allow you to accompany us, she said, craning her neck back around, and she then began making her way up the hill.
As she left the two standing there, Pythia thought about the intruder. Despite her reservations, he intrigued her, perhaps since he was much like herself: cold and detached. For so long, she had never allowed herself to become close to anyone else, and now, in such a short amount of time, she was on her way to having a real pack. I doubt this male has been here for long, she mused. I remember how my paws used to do that when I first got here. After a few moments, she reached the cave and saw the rabbit he had left there. Looking around to make sure nothing had been disturbed, she turned her gaze out towards the two wolves still standing below her.

Fane watched Pythia walk away, and shook his head with a wry grin. From his experience, her lack of giving her name meant that she was not going to give up her place of power easily. No matter, he wasn't here to take over his pack. He picked up the rabbit, a wry grin plastered across his face, looking like it had been tacked on just to give him some emotion. The snow continued to fall, picking up speed as he stood there, letting the snow fall into his fur. Unfortunately, well not to unfortunate, she was like him. Cold, a loner, not used to contact. On the bright side, they might get along better and he wouldn’t have to talk as much, but on the down side it might cause conflict between them and prevent it from making the pack work together. Well, the beginning of a pack anyways. He wondered if his lack of submission was what forced her not to reveal his name. Her not telling him her name showed that she might view him as a threat. In many ways, that could both be taken as a compliment and an insult. He shrugged off his thoughts, knowing that getting lost in them could, like so many other things, become fatal to his health. Rotating he powerful shoulders he picked up the rabbit, head and torso slowly moving in a wide arc to scan the surrounding land. He tensed again, letting the rabbit slowly slip to the ground. He dropped down to the ground, a low crouch, he body tucked to the ground and shrouded by the snow. His pupils dilated, focusing in on a small spot in the snow. There was a small bush, only the very tips sticking out above the rapidly falling snow. Underneath, yet again, was a small rabbit. Not nearly as big this time, it was small and scrawny, good enough for only a half a meal. His claws kneaded the earth, waiting for the right moment. The rabbit paused, sniffing the air and giving Fane the chance to strike. He launched himself off the ground like there were springs under him. The rabbit cocked its head to the side, but it was too late. Fane landed on the rabbit, claws hitting it and tearing through its belly. He shrugged. Normally he wouldn’t have torn into it like that, but right now he didn’t have the time to be careful. The storm was rapidly approaching, so fast that his bloody paw prints were already starting to get covered. He picked up both the rabbits in his mouth and started to trot back to the cave. His legs dug into the snow, propelling him upwards, still following his tracks. He could follow Pythia’s scent, but certainly not by sight alone. He could barely see two feet in front of himself now. “That storm came in fast.” he thought, his eyes narrowed against the snow flakes shooting into his eyes. “Well at least nothing will be able to see my tracks through this.” he thought, with a wry grin forming in his mind. His mouth was too focused on not biting into the rabbit. His jaws were already starting to get sore from the effort but he plowed on through the snow, forcing himself ahead, finally reaching the cave where Pythia waited for him. Without waiting for an invite he trotted in, dropping the rabbits down in a neat pile and shaking off his fur, the white snow flakes flying everywhere, melting against the cave floor. He blinked rapidly, chasing the last remnants of snow from his eyes and turned back to the snowy female. He padded to the edge of the cave, not wanting to go any further. She puzzled him. She was distant, yet she didn’t want to seem to want to get close to anyone. All the females he’d ever met loved company. Pulling his dark brown eyes back into focus he spoke. “Well, I brought you another rabbit. I wish to join your pack, but first I would have to know your name.” he said, a small smirk forming at the corners of his mouth.
OOC: Sorry about the lack of paragraphs. *has no idea where to separate them* xD

Things moved fast, in what seemed to be a deserted place, wolfs appeared from nowhere. The quite was interrupted by voices, his vision was filled with movement. He briefly closed his eyes and stepped back, taking it all in with deep breaths. Fog drifted from his open mouth, see-able breath. Befor he could even reply, wolfs jumped into veiw, pushing him aside to get to Pythia. Arkane's gaze flickered softly, befor he made himself heard. "I'm Arkane..I do understand that this land is yours. I don't want to cause any arguements" he said, maybe a bit too loud. But, with two new faces, both talking, it'd be hard to hear him. He wasnt used to so many faces, so many voices, and he huddled in the corner. The cave wall seemed to grope and grab at him, until he fit perfectly into a crevice. His home; hidden, away from the rest, drifting off into his own world. No one else would ever know where it'd be.
Then, he came to some realization. A black wolf living on the summit. How odd was that. He found himself trying to hide himself under the snow, shitfing it upwards towards his legs so that it clung. It didn't hide him, rather make him look like he had recently romped in the snow. Licking his lips, he decided to listen to the rest, ears flicking at their voices. His pack mates; he'd have to get used to them. Wrenching himself from the cracks, he shifted towards them, laying down. Smiling, Arkane made himself look inviting a friendly.
ooc; I'm soo sorry that it's so short, but I have no muse. Atleast it's two paragraphs..

Pythia startled for a moment as she realized there was another wolf in her midst, one about whom she had forgotten. It was the first one she had encountered not long ago, a large black male who had seemed to have the ability to melt into the shadows. I wonder how he does that, Pythia mused. With his black pelt, you would think he would be completely conspicuous in the snow…But perhaps that is how he has survived here. Shaking her head to rid herself of the snow that had accumulated on her nose, building up especially in her scars, she turned to the black male, pupils dilated in the reduced lighting of the cave. I’m glad you have no intention of causing a fight. I would hate to have to hurt you, Pythia scoffed.
At this time, the other black wolf, the one who had jumped in front of her, entered the cave. He had a scrawny rabbit between his massive jaws, neck broken and entrails dangling out. When the smell hit Pythia’s nose, she remembered her lack of food recently, but she quickly dismissed that thought. When one is in a power struggle, one does not think of such trivial matters as hunger pains. You can set the rabbit down with the others, she said, motioning over towards the pile with the other two near the front of the cave. With this storm, it will be a while before hunting becomes an option again.
Pythia paused for a moment before answering the second part of his question, the one regarding her name. She had only revealed it to Avalanche so far, and she had not yet made her way up to the cave. The white female suppressed a sigh of annoyance; she had been trying to keep one step ahead of all these newcomers, and it was gnawing on the last threads of her patience, threatening to snap them at any time. For a moment, she debated simply ignoring it and pressing onward, but she knew that would just cause more trouble than she cared to get herself into given the present situation. Turning around to face both the black males and begin to gather her thoughts, she had to suppress a smile. Both of the wolves standing in front of her were jet black, which was a striking contrast to both her own pelt and the snow, not to mention Avalanche. The alpha female quickly regained control of her emotions and gave them both a cold stare. I am sick of these games. Just so you all know and quit bothering me about it, my name is Pythia, and I control this territory. I will allow you both to stay here as long as you discontinue these aggravating power plays and introduce yourselves properly. With that said, Pythia walked over to where the initial two rabbits were placed, grabbed the larger one, and brought it to the other side of the cave where she proceeded to devour it in silence.
OOC: Hooray for being inspired XD

((Nah, she meant that we were all trying not to reveal our names before the others did. xD))
Fane noticed Pythia’s sudden burst of hunger and instead of bringing it over to the pile, he placed it gently down in front of her in respect for his new alpha, or so he hoped. His eyes glanced over towards the other male, noticing his black pelt too. Yet another misfit in the lands of snow. he thought with a wry smile. Thought this black pelted wolf seemed to be able to blend into his surrounding much better then Fane could. It wasn’t even that Fane was incapable; it was just that he hadn’t lived in these snow white mountains for any length of time like the other black pelted one probably had. Fane looking away from the black pelted wolf realized that Pythia had already walked over to the other side of the room and taken the larger rabbit. Letting out a small sigh that couldn’t be heard unless you were standing right next to him he picked up the decimated rabbit and padded to the opposite side of the cave, feeling safer as he curved a little further inwards where his pelt blended in better. Dropping the rabbit in the pile he contemplated his act of giving the rabbit to Pythia. Well, that actually might have ruined his chances of joining this pack. It probably showed disrespect, giving her the skinniest and most mangled rabbit. Feeling a little sheepish, something he rarely did, he slowly lowered his eyes again. Forcing his head down, not all the way, but just enough to show he was sorry, he scraped the dirt by his feet into a small pile, wondering if he was going to be in trouble for that little act. Fane one again raised his head, walking over next to Pythia and standing in front of her, bowing his head. “Since you asked me to introduce myself, I shall.” he said, trying not be sarcastic but not quite able to keep a little from leaking out. “I am Fane, and I come from further south. I wish to join this pack and stay here, helping you.” he said, trying to be as polite as possible. So, her name was Pythia. Amazed he didn’t have to give up his name first, he bit down the impulse to retaliate saying that she was the one keeping up the power play. Letting out another quick sigh he spoke again. “If you wish, Pythia,” he said, using her name not out of disrespect but of the sheer fact that he could. “I will go out and down the mountain a little to try and find some more food to last us this storm.” he said, making this offer to try and gain a little more favor with her, also knowing that whoever came first into this pack would all get a bigger share then he would. The only thing that made Fane the slightest unnerved was the fact that he didn’t know if he would fit in up here. At least the other male, Arkane, could blend in using that shadows. But him, he didn’t know. His pelt was such a dark black that he didn’t even think the shadows would be able to hide it. Even if he went into the storm he didn’t think it could hide the fact that he was very unequipped to live in these harsh surroundings. It wasn’t just the fact that his pelt didn’t blend in it was that he was also not used to the cold and his pads were still bleeding, little droplets scattered across the forest floor. He looked up in surprise at one lone leaf that had blown into the cave. Just like me. he thought. A misfit, something that doesn’t belong.[i/] he raised his head and looked at Pythia, waiting for her reply to his offer.

Avalanche loped behind her, taking note of the weather becoming harsher. The snow blurred her vision, so she blinked, ridding herself of the snow. When she looked up again, a large male wolf was upon them she was startled but didn't give it away, she took in the males looks. Bold, muscular, even a little scarred. His black pelt was stunning to her eyes, a life of white was making her eyes sore to new colours. She cocked her head and noticed large red blotches in the snow. She looked back at Pythia and sniffed warily at one. Wolf blood. She looked at the male, he looked almost as harsh as Pythia, and he wouldn't go down without a fight. She turned back to the other male, his black coat blended better, The other must be new to the mountains... Looking back over the summit the edge seemed to loom up before her. She shivered, the ledge was to close for comfort. She walked over to the side, and as she did so, so did the male. Except he didn't walk, he leapt. Avalanche regarded the male with curiosity, and put herself on guard next to Pythia. She didn't want any trouble. As they started to move again the storm got worse and the wolves disappeared from sight. Avalanche quickened her pace and found the cave. She looked around the measly surroundings, fear and grief tried to flood her body, she wanted to break down but she didn't, she was a strong wolf and wouldn't let the past get to her. The present mattered more. Pythia passed and she told her she would watch outside whilst the others caught up. The newer male wandered in with a scrawny rabbit in his mouth. She turned back and let her thoughts take over her mind. There would definitely not be enough food for four wolves here. Never mind that scrawny excuse for a rabbit. With that she snorted in disgust. Humph, that wouldn't be enough for a half power-snack.She thought sarcastically. The other male hadn't come yet, she noticed. She went to howl when a scent caught her nose. Deer She leapt back into the cave as quickly and quietly as she could. There is a small family of deer lost in the snow ! She whispered excitedly, it was loud enough for the wolves to hear, but not the deer. There is about one large male, a female, a buck and a fawn! Surely it will withstand us longer then measly rabbit ? She was so exited by her discovery she could barely keep still, time for the hunt... She thought, her mouth watering and her canines baring. She turned back and added, The wind is on our side...OOC; Ooooh Kesterall leaves a cliffhanger... Dun, Dun, DUNNNN. Lol Short I know, but not much time to post
